| Hey Dawn,
The word 'angel' interprets to 'Messenger of God'. The 'of God' part is a modern interpretation for the 'el' which comes from the Hebrew, 'Elohim' which ultimately is a word used to describe the essence of Creation.
It's a similar concept to the Sikh's 'WaheGuru'. Rather than identifying the Creator energy as a man or a person, it's more of an essence and presence which is ultimately in all things including you and I.
This is an important thing to raise when it comes to working with angels.
Firstly, their name means 'Messenger', that means it's of their essence to communicate and be in touch.
Secondly, their name signifies they are 'Of God' or 'Elohim' meaning, when we call on angels, we are also invoking the presence of God, Creator and ultimately the Oneness that pervades through the Universe.
To me that is WOW.
And to those who may say to me, 'Why angels and not God directly?' The answer is: When I call on angels, it's inevitable that I am also calling on God.
And, one that defies religion.
